And so on, COUp Spring Picnic! The cherry blossoms on campus have started to bloom so it is our duty to stand under them like a shoujo protagonist in wait for their romance. At the picnic there will be lots of food, games, and social enjoyment to be had. We will also be holding a collective session of the game called Wink, of which the rules are a super brutal secret that will only be revealed at the picnic. The COUp picnic will be held on Sun. April 17th at NOON in the area between Murphey Hall and Carolina Hall (where the cherry blossoms are!).

Final announcement is a reminder about our Karaoke event which will be held this Saturday (4/9) at 7:30 PM. We will once again be heading to Star Karaoke for our venue. IMPORTANT: They updated their song database with a feature to search by artists and song title, along with many recent songs being added (Anaconda being a notable one). So get hype!

Sending out this reminder that tomorrow we will be watching the live action rendition of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney! Because this movie is a bit more than two hours long we will be starting COUp at 6:30PM.

The latest anime film by Mamoru Hosoda (Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, Wolf Children) will be showing at Southpoint AMC next weekend! The movie is called Bakemono no Ko [eng. The Boy and the Beast] and COUp will gather there to enjoy the animation spectacle. Yes, from now until March 1st you can submit a neat doodle or concept suggestion for a design you’d love plastered on your chest for the world to see. Recommended designs are those including the regular shows from the entire year, so that would be: Gangsta, Ore Monogatari!!, Kekkai Sensen, Dimension W, Akagami no Shirayuki-hime, and One Punch Man. Send ideas to myself (wsalazar@live.unc.edu) or Lydia (lydiaoka@live.unc.edu). Prices for said shirts will be determined when the demand for them is estimated. Oh and by the way, winning designer gets a free t-shirt.

Next Sunday (2/14) at 2PM in Student Union Room 3408 COUp will be gathering for its 5th-ish annual Valentine’s movie event Redline is Love! What is Redline you may ask? A quote from our elder druid Phil:

‘Redline is an anime feature film from the distant year of 2009. It uses traditional hand-drawn animation to kick you in the ass with its raw power. If you are able to bring food (red-colored in particular) to this event it will be very much appreciated! Food-accessories such as plates, cups, drinks, and plastic ware are also encouraged! I will for instance be bringing cookies~

In addition to having your eyes vaporized from the Redline’s beauty there will be post-movie Smashing (with Super Smash Bros. for WiiU). So come prove your love to us in the showdown of T-rated cartoon violence!
