I hope your weekend is going well! I wanted to make sure that everyone got the info that we talked about at the general interest meeting.

We will be going to see My Hero Academia: Two Heroes at the AMC Southpoint 17 on Saturday, September 29^th at 7:30pm. Please fill out the form found here, https://goo.gl/forms/U4iX1mdc9II4Hkc42, if you would like to see the movie. You can also select if you would like to go out to eat before or after the movie. The form will close after the meeting on September 25^th.

If you have any suggestions for events, convention trips, or anything at all, you can send them using this form, https://goo.gl/forms/81fZpNJIWlnh9q223. Either me or Rachel will get back to you. This is an anonymous way to send suggestions, and no one else other than me or Rachel will see them.

Meetings will start on Tuesday, September 11^th at 7pm. I will send the date this Thursday after I am able to reserve rooms.

If you would like to be added to the regular COUp listserv, you can contact me or Rachel, rachelju@email.unc.edu. This listserv will become inactive starting in October, so if you still want to be updated you’ll have to be added to the regular listserv. The regular listserv, our Facebook group, The COUp Table, & this website are the best ways to stay in touch with the club. Heel Life will not be regularly updated, but you can still request to be added to the roster officially.

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone’s summer has been enjoyable. Although Summer is almost over, a brand new year of COUp is fast approaching!

COUp will be at Table 47 for Fall Fest this year! It will take place from 8:15pm-11:30pm on Sunday, August 19^th at Hooker Fields. We will need people to help distribute flyers at the table and carry the banners around the field. Please email me, tamaralr@live.unc.edu, or Rachel, rachelju@email.unc.edu, if you are an upperclassmen and would like to volunteer. Even if you can only stay for part of the event, any help would be greatly appreciated! We are looking forward to meeting any new students this year!

The General Interest meeting will be on Sunday, September 2^nd from 1pm-4:30pm in Union Room 3411. We will be showing Spirited Away after introducing the club to our new members.

The Ballot Meeting will take place on Sunday, September 9^th from 1pm-5pm in Union Room 3408. You can send suggestions for shows and movies/OVAs to me or Rachel. The cutoff date for suggestions will be September 4^th. Regular Meetings will begin on Tuesday, September 11^th. I will announce the location as soon as I am able to reserve classrooms.

This Sunday, February 12th, at 1 PM in Union Room 3411 will be our annual Redline screening! If you’re able to bring food (especially of the red variety), feel free to, but if not don’t worry about it. After the movie, we’ll be playing some video games: Smash, Mario Kart, Jackbox- whatever we can get our hands on! Come and experience the tradition!

The latest anime film by Mamoru Hosoda (Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, Wolf Children) will be showing at Southpoint AMC next weekend! The movie is called Bakemono no Ko [eng. The Boy and the Beast] and COUp will gather there to enjoy the animation spectacle. Next Sunday (2/14) at 2PM in Student Union Room 3408 COUp will be gathering for its 5th-ish annual Valentine’s movie event Redline is Love! What is Redline you may ask? A quote from our elder druid Phil:

‘Redline is an anime feature film from the distant year of 2009. It uses traditional hand-drawn animation to kick you in the ass with its raw power. If you are able to bring food (red-colored in particular) to this event it will be very much appreciated! Food-accessories such as plates, cups, drinks, and plastic ware are also encouraged! I will for instance be bringing cookies~

In addition to having your eyes vaporized from the Redline’s beauty there will be post-movie Smashing (with Super Smash Bros. for WiiU). So come prove your love to us in the showdown of T-rated cartoon violence!
